San Xavier, Cousins and Tucson
So last weekend I made the big journey down to Tucson to visit my cousins and meet the twins. The I10 going down to Tucson has to be one of the worst interstates in Arizona. I don't know what it is about that stretch that people seem to become more idiotic than normal. On the way out of Phoenix there is a racetrack formally know as Firebird. It will probably always be known as Firebird to me. Apparently there were races that were going to be happening that weekend and everyone on the I10 decided they needed to stop and watch. The races hadn't even started yet. People where still arriving and getting the pits set up. That doesn't matter on the I10. We have to come to a complete stop to see what everyone is doing. I'm pretty sure that everyone stopped on the 10 didn't have a ticket or pass to watch so they need to just keep moving.
Anyways I got to meet these two amazing little ladies. I'm not sure who looks more scared. Me or them.
While in Tucson I wanted to shoot the San Xavier del Bac Mission at sunrise. It is something I have been wanting to do. Unfortunately the clouds didn't want to cooperate so it was a pretty boring sky.
There was a sign in front of the door that I moved just out of the way so it wouldn't be in my photos. The sign gave the hours of the church. I moved it just out of the way and made sure that if anyone walked hop to the door of the church they would still see it. As I was taking the picture above a guy was unlocking the doors and opening the church. Just as he walked out he saw the sign was moved and immediately says, "Who moved the God Damn sign just for a stupid picture" I was standing right next to him with my camera and tripod. He didn't seem like a very friendly person especially for working at a church.
