Ramblings, Thoughts and Nonsense from Me.

That Toddlin' Town...

Waiting to board for Chicago.

Waiting to board for Chicago.

...and the adventure began at 3am Thursday morning.  Plane left at 5:50am from Phoenix and arriving in Chicago at 11:10am. The flight was pretty smooth except for the 2 landings. Coming into land in to Chicago we almost touched down then took off again. All we hear over the speaker from the captain is, "too fast". We'll that can't be good.  So we circle around and try again. The 2nd time we still seemed fast but we landed safely. After arriving at the gate the captain apologized and said there was a spacing issue.  That doesn't sound any better.

We were picked up by my cousin and off to Wrigley Field we go to see the Cubs take on the D-Backs. On our way we go through "Chi-raq" not the best looking part of town, we stopped at the United Center to visit Michael Jordan and do a little shopping at the Blackhawks store.

Walking into Wrigley Field is pretty amazing. So much history there and we had outstanding seats. 4th row behind the Cubs dugout. I had to get a Chicago Dog at Wrigley. It only seems like the Chicago thing to do (or maybe the touristy thing to do). Well I got one and it wasn't that great. Chicagoland Hotdogs in Mesa, AZ has much better Chicago dogs than what I got at Wrigley. The Cubs lost to the D-Backs 2-5.

After the game it was off to find our apartment. 215 W. Washington is where we are calling home for the next 5 days. We have a studio apartment on the 44th floor.  Very nice.   After checking in we walked around a bit and ended up stopping to eat at the Elephant & Castle.  Made is back to the apartment and we were exhausted. In bed by 9:30 (7:30) Arizona time).

Oh I sure don't know how to keep these adventures short.  I will be splitting this novel in to 4 separate blog posts.  Lucky for you.

To be continued....
