You Lose the Blues
Today was the day of Sarah's race. She ran in the Breakthrough for Brain Tumors Chicago 5K Run & Walk. Chicago didn't let us down with the weather again. Lots of wind, cold and rain. The race would start at Soldier Field home of My Chicago Bears. Today we would use Uber to get us to our destination. I highly recommend using it. It is a car service. It cost a little more than a taxi but it is a nicer ride and sometimes easier than trying to flag down a taxi.
Made it to the start of the race. It was a pleasant low 40s with 1000mph winds. Sarah had her best time ever in a 5K. Unfortunately we find out later that they made the race a little shorter. Although she still did great. She came in 467 of 1476. While Sarah was running i walked around Soldier Field I found 1 door that was open and tried to go in to actually see inside but security wouldn't allow it.
After the race we went to the Field Museum. This was an outstanding museum. We were in there for a very long time and still didn't see everything.
Afterwards we walked to find a place for lunch. We ended up at the Eleven City Diner in the South Loop.
Later in the afternoon we visited Buddy Guys Legends. A blues bar own by Buddy Guy and I guess on occasion makes an appearance. After that once the sun went down I went back out to shoot the Chicago Theatre. Unfortunately the sign had some lights out so it didn't turn out to be the best photo but at least I got one. While shooting I had a conversation with a lovely lady named Jazzy. I will write about that another time.
Almost done. Only 1 more day to go. Hang in there.
